About MowBotGuide & Our Methodology
Last updated 2026-10-24T00:00:00.000Z
MowBotGuide helps homeowners choose a wire-free robot lawn mower: the newer generation that navigates with RTK satellite positioning, LiDAR and cameras instead of a buried perimeter wire. The market moves fast and brand pages are full of marketing claims, so we pull the hard numbers (rated area, max slope, navigation type and price) into one place and show where each came from.
How we research
- Official sources only for specs and prices. Every figure comes from the manufacturer’s own US store or spec page, and we show the date we checked it. Prices change often and sales are common; always confirm on the brand page before you buy.
- AI-assisted. Our research and writing are done with AI assistance and reviewed against the sources. Every article says so.
- No hands-on testing claims. We have not tested these mowers ourselves, and we won’t pretend to. If we ever do hands-on testing, we’ll say exactly what we did.
- Our math and opinions are labeled. When we estimate or recommend, we say it’s ours.
Yard calculator assumptions
- 20% area headroom: we only suggest models rated for at least 1.2× your mowable area, because brand ratings assume ideal conditions.
- Slope: your steepest spot must be at or below the brand-stated maximum; within 10 percentage points of the limit we flag it.
- Tree cover: under heavy cover we flag models that rely on RTK + vision only, since satellite fixes degrade near trees and tall walls.
